About the Tour

Why this is a two-day tour

Istria has more essential stops than any single day can comfortably hold. Zagreb to Pula alone is roughly 3-3.5 hours, and Rovinj, Poreč, Motovun and Hum are spread across the peninsula, adding another 2.5-3 hours of driving between them. Squeezing all five into one day would mean over ten hours behind the wheel and very little time to actually enjoy each place.

Instead, we split the tour across two days with an overnight stay in Istria — typically near Rovinj or Poreč. Your driver stays with the vehicle both days, so you're never rushing between stops or coordinating separate transport for day two.

Stop 2 · Overnight Nearby

Rovinj

Istria's most photographed town — a cluster of pastel houses on a former island, topped by the bell tower of St. Euphemia. Best explored on foot at golden hour, which is why it's the natural place to end day one.

Motovun

A medieval hill town rising above the Mirna valley, at the heart of Istria's truffle region. Walk the town walls for sweeping views over the vineyards and forests below.

Typical visit ~1-1.5 hours

Frequently Asked Questions

Questions About This Tour

Why is this a two-day tour instead of a single day trip?

Zagreb to Pula alone is about 3-3.5 hours, and Rovinj, Poreč, Motovun and Hum are spread across the peninsula with another 2.5-3 hours of driving between them. Covering all five properly in one day would mean over ten hours of driving with little time to actually enjoy each place, so we split it across two days with an overnight stay in Istria.

Is accommodation included?

No, the price covers the private vehicle and driver for both days only. We're happy to recommend places to stay in the Rovinj or Poreč area, but booking and payment for accommodation is handled separately by you.

What is the usual order of stops?

A typical route is Zagreb to Pula on day one, continuing to Rovinj in the afternoon and overnighting nearby. Day two covers Poreč, then inland to hilltop Motovun and the tiny town of Hum, before the drive back to Zagreb. The order and pacing can be adjusted to your interests.

Are entrance tickets included?

No, entrance tickets such as the Pula Arena or the Euphrasian Basilica in Poreč are not included and are paid on site.

Can we do this in a single day instead, with fewer stops?

Yes. If a single day works better for your schedule, we recommend narrowing it to two stops, such as Pula and Rovinj, or Poreč and Motovun. Let us know your priorities when you get in touch and we'll put together a one-day route.

What should we bring?

Comfortable walking shoes for cobbled old towns and the hilltop climb into Motovun, a swimsuit if you'd like to stop at the coast, and a camera — all five stops are highly photogenic.
